Terminal 18 at Port Everglades

With just 6 weeks before the completion deadline for the largest cruise terminal in the world, contractors and Port Everglades Officials realized that an important part of the terminal security was overlooked.  That oversight would delay the terminal opening due to United Sates Coast Guard security requirements for terminals.

Due to the short time frame and complexity of the project, Port Everglades and the contractor turned to Tony Belotto of Hypower, Inc.  Mr. Belotto’s previous experience installing the security at Port Everglades gave him an advantage when installing Terminal 18’s system.  Hypower, Inc. was able to mobilize and start installing conduit within three days of receiving the contract. Hypower, Inc. installed conduit, wiring, fiber, network switches, and 50 IP cameras, along with wireless access points and wireless cameras.  All was completed early and under budget.  Due to the professionalism and dedication of Hypower’s team the Terminal was able to open on time and was in compliance with the United States Coast Guards requirements.  The grand opening of the Terminal took place on November 6, 2009.
